As the name suggests Incognito braces are an innovative new lingual orthodontic treatment which is invisible to other people. Without anybody knowing the patient is wearing braces, they are designed to straighten the teeth. Incognito braces use state-of-the-art technology to move the teeth into the correct position. Incognito braces are significantly lighter, with each bracket being custom-made to fit the individual patient. They are finer than any other lingual braces on the market.
How do Incognito braces work?
Incognito braces work by forcing the teeth to move into the correct position gradually. The wires and brackets are manufactured and tailor-made to suit the patient’s individual prescription. These tailor-made wires and brackets are fixed to the back of the teeth. The teeth are moved into position due to the force that is generated by the brackets and wires. Once the teeth have moved into the correct position, the braces will hold them in the correct position.
Why should I choose Incognito?
Very often, people with orthodontic problems do not want to wear fixed braces, so Incognito braces have been developed to provide a solution to this problem. For many people, the thought of wearing a brace causes anxiety as they are concerned about their physical appearance. Incognito braces are a sophisticated version of traditional lingual braces. This technology allows them to move the teeth effectively and painlessly without anyone else even knowing the patient is wearing a brace. As well as having braces that are out of sight, Incognito braces tend to be much more comfortable because they are lighter, finer and are custom-made down to the last component for each individual patient. Another benefit of Incognito braces is the cost. They are considerably cheaper than other orthodontic treatments. Incognito braces are extremely versatile and so they can be used to treat patients of all ages.
Stages of treatment
It is important that you arrange to see an orthodontist for a consultation in order to have your orthodontic problems discussed. Your orthodontist or dentist will look at your teeth and discuss possible treatment options with you at this initial consultation. They will decide which treatment is best for you based on the nature of your orthodontic problems, your budget and your desired end result.
Your dentist should discuss the advantages of Incognito braces with you and explain how the treatment works, especially if you are worried about your appearance when wearing braces. If your dentist deems that Incognito treatment is appropriate, then silicone impressions of your mouth will be taken and sent to a special laboratory where they will be used as a template for plaster casts. A dental technician will then take these plaster casts, cut them out and place them into a wax model. This wax model is then scanned by a state of the art 3-D scanner. The individual component parts of the brace are then custom-made, based on images generated by the 3-D scanner. Once your brace has been fabricated, it will be placed in a silicone tray and sent back to the dentist. This silicone tray helps your dentist to fit the brace accurately in your mouth.
